Steamed Mustard Fish


1 kg fish of your choosing (I used Katla)
200 gms tomatoes
100 gms curd
1 whole garlic
1 large onion
20 gms mustard seeds
2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
a small bunch of chopped coriander
4 green chillies
5 tbsp mustard oil


Soak the mustard seeds in water till they soften, grind them with garlic and set aside.
Cut the fish into desired pieces.
Mix salt, turmeric, chopped tomatoes, onion, curd, mustard paste and mustard oil. Mix gently with  the fish and place in a pan.
Sprinkle a little chilli powder, dhania, green chillies and cover.
Cook it on slow fire for 25 minutes. 
Serve piping hot with steamed rice.
