SPICED MULLED WINE



 
 1 Orange                                                     

  12 Cloves
    
 3 tbsp demerara (brown) sugar
     
1 nutmeg (grated)
     
3 Cinnamon Sticks
     
2 lemons sliced
    
 1 bottle dry red wine

 

Stud the orange with cloves and place in a
large saucepan. Add the sugar, nutmeg,
cinnamon sticks lemon slices and 500 ml
water. Stir over low heat until the sugar
has dissolved. Bring to the boil, reduce
heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add the red wine and heat through.

Serves 4-6

BUTTERED RUM


 1 tsp Sugar

60 ml Dark Rum

    
White unsalted butter

Hot Water

 
Put the Sugar and Rum in an Old Fashioned (Whisky) glass. Top up with 100 ml hot water and dissolve the sugar. Stir in one teaspoon of soft unsalted butter before serving. Be a daredevil to the winter fog.

22 CARAT




30 ml Dark Rum

30 ml Cognac (or a good Brandy)


Powdered Cinnamon



Put Rum and Cognac/Brandy in a  Brandy
Snifter, Top up with 90 ml warm water.
Sprinkle powdered Cinnamon on top before
serving. Greet your guests with a Golden
Glow.
